In October, I shared with you my colour block sitting room.
Well I couldn’t resist doing a colour block Christmas tree to match. I started with some baubles from my local free Facebook group and some Annie Sloan Chalk paint in Emperor’s Silk.
I did buy some extra large baubles too. You can see here it’s mid way through my half and half paint technique: paint half of the bauble and once you’ve done them all, that half is dry enough to hold to paint the other half. No prep, just 2 coats of Chalk paint and then a clear coat of wax.
I’ve done lots of bauble painting this festive season: you can check out my Annie Sloan wreath here and my Rustoleum wreath here.
I also painted these gorgeous laser cut wooden decorations I got from Hobbycraft.
Et voilà!
I attached them all with red bauble ribbons from IKEA to add to the colour block effect. But I love using them every year to hang baubles (in previous years I’ve used the white ribbons); at £3 for 30 they are a bit more expensive then buying a roll of ribbon but they are all pre-cut and tied which is worth the money.
I love the mix of matte Chalk Paint red and shiny red. Plus the mix of sizes.
